P - Proactive Preparation

  • Protect your investment with regular home maintenance

  • Pest Control

E - Emergency Planning

  • Make sure that your home or business is protected with a Fire and Burglar Alarm System through East Cascade Security Systems. Call Kory Friedman and she will give you the best service as well as Peace of Mind, knowing that your home is protected and monitored 541 389-0015.

  • Put Mr. Yuk stickers on hazardous household products and teach children to leave them alone. These stickers are available from the Oregon Poison Control Center.

    • Post the number of the Oregon Poison Center by your telephone 800-222-1222

    • Pick up The Hazardless Home Handbook A Guide to Hazardous Household Products and Effective Alternatives from DEQ .

  • Fire – For good information on fire safety…Click here

    • Create a plan for your family and practice it each time you check your fire alarms; Escape routes, where to meet, who to call.

  • Put your phone on ICE:

    • Program an “In Case of Emergency” number in your phone under the contact of ICE so that someone can instantly call that number if they find you or your phone.

A - A Change of Seasons

  • Clean out your closet and change your wardrobe over.

    • If you get stuck while doing this, ask yourself these questions:

      • When was the last time I wore this?

      • Do I love it?

      • How do I look/feel when I wear it?

      • If it is sentimental, how often do I need to see it? (Possible long term storage)

      • What is the worst thing that would happen if I didn’t have it?

  • Check your make up, medicine and vitamins for expiration dates.

  • Prepare your yard and garden for the Spring/Summer.

  • Change your flannel sheets to the crisp cotton ones.
